[an error occurred while processing this directive]This unit extends students knowledge and skills to make use of current technologies in developing business applications on the internet platform. The unit provides an opportunity for students to explore net centric computing focusing on business applications development. The unit has been designed to equip future web application developers and managers of business solutions. Thus practical exercises will be illustrative with industrial strength and technology issues will be given equal coverage with technology details. The primary aim of the unit is to familiarise students with the currently popular web technologies so that their design and implementation decisions in the future will be informed and therefore produce successful systems with a high degree of probability. Topics coverage include data and messages using XML, architecture, scripting and programming in .NET platform

Students will be expected to spend a total of 12 hours per week during semester on this unit as follows:
