The Monash University Library has branches on each campus of the University. The library provides access to over 2.9 million items and to a vast range of resources and services online including the library catalogue and tutorials.
Every branch is equipped with computer workstations, photocopying and printing facilities and quiet study areas. Some branches provide study rooms and equipment that can be booked.

The Berwick Library and Learning Commons specialises in tourism, communication, business and information technology.

Particular strengths of the Gippsland Library include business, humanities, social sciences and communication, information technology, health sciences and education. There is also a large collection of teaching materials for education students.

The CL Butchers Pharmacy Library specialises in pharmaceutical sciences and drug technology and is considered the most important collection of its type in Australia.

The Peninsula Library has particular strengths in nursing, business, information technology, and primary and early childhood education. Collections are also being developed to support new courses in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and health sciences. A collection of medical models supports the training of nurses, ambulance officers and health sciences students and there is also a large collection of teaching materials for education students.

1. There are various brochures and other printed resources including ‘How to get you started at the library’, ‘Library user’s guide’, ‘Supporting your research activities’ and others available for students at the library premises.

These resources can be accessed anywhere at any time as long as you have internet access and your Monash authcate and password at hand.
3. Students with a valid Monash student ID card may borrow materials from any branch of Monash University Library. Postgraduate students may borrow up to 30 items for 28 days (though items may be recalled after 14 days).
Prior to ordering, students need to search for the required items in the online catalogue. If the book is in a different location to the student, it will be transferred to them within 1-2 days. Some items that are in heavy demand have shorter loan periods or are placed in a separate reserve collection.
4. Students can sign up for the alert services so that when an ordered book arrives or any of the loans are due, they will be notified not only by email but a also by text message to their mobile phone.
5. Students can also search other Monash libraries and borrow books (or use photocopying facilities) there.
