Research student support and services

Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students

Stage 1: Starting out

Provides students with information regarding available research training courses and various scholarships. It guides through the very initial stage of study from choosing the research interest and supervisor to writing a draft proposal and enrolling in the course.

Stage 2: Confirmation phase

Helps students prepare for research, provides familiarisation with the codes of research practice and ethics, and provides information required to write and defend a research proposal in the first year of candidature.

Stage 3: Doing your research

Guides students on building relationships with a supervisor and carrying out research activities. It also provides information on how to apply for travel support, find relevant events, plan, structure and write a thesis.

Stage 4: Completion phase

Provides students with information on how to submit a thesis on time and plan life after obtaining a degree.
