Inclusive Practices - Faculty Equity and Diversity Committee Terms of Reference
The Faculty has established an Inclusive Practices Equity and Diversity Committee with its own terms of reference. In general terms, the role of the committee will be to initiate and monitor the progress, both in qualitative and quantitative terms, of programs undertaken by faculties to promote:
- The Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Program
- Cultural and religious diversity initiatives
- Support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Work, Life and Family strategy
- Employment and Career Development for Indigenous Australians
- Support for Staff who have a disability
- Awareness of rights and responsibilities identified by the particular anti-discrimination legislation of the country in which Monash operates
Terms of Reference
- To report to the Dean and Faculty Board on University equity and diversity policies, strategies and programmes
- To disseminate information and other materials that support the implementation of the University's Global Equal Opportunity Policy
- To monitor and advise the Faculty on the implementation of the University's inclusive practices on workplace equity and diversity policy in the University's employment procedures and practices within the Faculty
- To monitor the progress of programs, in both qualitative and quantitative terms undertaken by the Faculty to promote inclusive practices on equity and diversity policy
- To monitor the achievement of a working environment free of harassment and discrimination within the Faculty
- To recommend strategies to improve access to Faculty's degree programs in accordance with University's equity objectives
Meetings
The Faculty of Information Technology’s Inclusive Practices - Faculty Equity and Diversity Committee are required to meet a minimum of 4 times a year but are scheduled to meet 6 times per year.
