Dr Linda Dawson

Dr Dawson is a Senior Lecturer at the Caulfield School of Information Technology, Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University and has over 20 years experience in information technology. She has worked as a programmer, systems analyst, and as an academic. Dr Dawson's recent research has been in the area of the application of mobile and wireless technologies in healthcare.

Dr Virginia Plummer

Dr Plummer is a Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University and a registered nurse and midwife at Southern Health. Her research interests for the past 13 years have been in the areas of nursing costs, nursing workload, nursing resource allocation and associated information systems.

Janette is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. Her background includes over 15 years in software development and 10 years in online facilitation and teaching. She currently coordinates the health informatics stream of the Master of Health Sciences program. Janette's academic interests include online teaching and learning, knowledge management, electronic health records, collaboration practices, and appropriation of design rationale.

Ms Juanita Fernando

Dr Fernando is the Academic Convenor BMedSc with the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University. Dr Fernando has recently completed her PhD under the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University. Chair of the Health Sub-Committee with the Australian Privacy Foundation, Dr Fernando's research concerns clinical health informatics, bioinformatic data exchange standards and information security. From her PhD thesis, Dr Fernando has developed a particular emphasis on e-health tools and their contribution to workflow methodologies in the health sector.

Dr Stephen Weeding

Dr Weeding is currently ICT Architect, Health and Aged Care at NEC Australia. Previously he was an ARC Research Fellow with the Mobile Health Research Group at the Caulfield School of Information Techology, Faculty of Information Technology. Dr Weeding successfully completed his PhD (under the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University) in May 2007 (thesis: Effects of Primary Health Care on the Utilisation of Metropolitan Hospital Emergency Departments). Dr Weeding's main interests are health informatics, medical geography, project management, mobile digital technologies, entrepreneurialism and innovation covering the areas of primary and tertiary health care and small business.

Mr Bob Ribbons

Mr Ribbons is an experienced clinical informatician and tertiary educator specialising in health informatics. He is currently employed as the Manager of Clinical Informatics, Peninsula Health in Melbourne where he has managed an enterprise-wide implementation and evaluation of a web-based clinical information system, incorporating a wireless point of care network.

Mrs Terri Harlem

Mrs Harlem is the Quality and Clinical Pathway Coordinator for Peninsula Health. Her role covers research, development, review, implementation, maintenance, compliance and the ongoing variance analysis of Clinical Pathways. Other Quality activities include consumer feedback surveys and the 2008 Quality of Care Report. Her main focus is improving quality and safety in care delivery.

President of Palliative Care Australia

Professor O'Connor has held the Vivian Bullwinkel Chair for 5 years, which formally encompasses 3 clinical partners on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne. Professor O'Connor is responsible for the Palliative Care Research Team in the School and manages a number of clinical research projects. Professor O'Connor sits on State and National Committees related to palliative care and is well published in her research areas. Professor O'Connor received an Order of Australia honour in 2005 for services to the development of palliative care in the State of Victoria.
