Mission

The Mobile Health Research Group™ (MHRG™) is an multi-disciplinary research group whose mission is Working Smarter in Health™. The MHRG aims to explore, understand and support mobile clinical practice with emerging information and communications technology in healthcare and hospital environments.

Research Platform

MHRG's Research Platform is in the area of Health Informatics. The research platform is built on understanding and improving the use of emerging technologies for supporting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) work practices and data management in healthcare using:

  • Action Research (incorporating Ethnographic techniques);
  • Design Science Research approaches; and
  • Case Studies.

The key element is to understand work practices BEFORE implementing IT solutions to support work practices and data management.

We are also interested in stakholder management in industry-based collaborative research. That is, understanding the different viewpoints and agendas for all participants in industry-based collaborative research.

We are currently looking at using action research with design science to produce socio-technically informed systems.
