Each computer only allows you to print to a few locations. You can check what printers your computer has available by going to START> SETTINGS> PRINTERS.
How do I identify which printout is mine?
Monash printers no longer print banner pages to identify your printout. We recommend that you place an identifying mark on all documents you print.
Labs are set up to print to the closest printer. You will only ever have access to three or four printers from the computer you are using.
Ensure that you have print credit in your Novell computer account, not student library card.
Ensure that before selecting to Print, there is a valid Printer displayed within the application you are printing from according to the Building you are in. If that is not the case then Contact your nearest FIT Service Desk.
Building K FIT labs there should be available either:

If you are printing from webCT or any .pdf files, save files locally to the C:\data folder, then try to print. Don't print directly from the webpage as it slows down printing and causes memory overload for the printer (hence printing comes to a halt).
Similarly, when printing (for example) .pdf or MS Word docs; or other documents with a lot of graphical images; and printing a lot of pages at once: print fewer pages at one time (eg. 5 pages max at a time).
a) The printer may be out of paper. Please contact your nearest FIT Service Desk so they can load paper as required. Your printout will not be lost. It will print as soon as more paper is loaded.
b) You do not have adequate print credit. A document will only print if your balance adequately covers all pages to be printed. For example, a document 12 pages long will cost $1.20 to print in black and white. If you only have $0.60 credit, the first 6 pages will not print because your available balance does not cover the cost of printing out the entire document.
c) Your document contains graphics or is a large file size. Please be patient as large documents may take a while to print.
d) There is a fault with the printer. Contact your nearest FIT Service Desk.
Contact your nearest FIT Service Desk. Printers are filled with paper late on Fridays to cover usage over weekends when the Helpdesks are closed.
