Monash is home to one of the most prestigious IT faculties in the world.

The Faculty of Information Technology provides outstanding teaching and research across six campuses. By integrating its computing and information technology disciplines, the Faculty provides enormous breadth and depth of teaching and research to the campuses, strategic alliances, centres and partnerships that form the Monash global network.

Monash is a member of Australia's prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) universities, recognised for excellence in teaching, learning, research and graduate outcomes.

Monash is the only Group of Eight university to have a dedicated IT faculty, recognising the importance of information and communications technology as a distinct discipline, requiring specialist teaching and research.

Monash University is ranked by The Times Higher Education Supplement in the top 50 universities in the world in Technology. The ranking (released Nov 2007), was based on an international survey of over 5,000 academics.

Monash's information technology courses have always been rigorous and relevant to industry and have attracted outstanding students worldwide. A degree in information technology provides graduates with the opportunity to apply creative energies to a field that is revolutionising almost everything we do: the way we communicate with each other, the way we conduct business and the way we experience entertainment.

The university's strong reputation and international profile provide a passport to a career in a field that places no national boundaries on the ability to operate as a professional. No matter where they plan to work, whether in Australia or overseas, Monash IT graduates are seen as premium IT professionals.
